ABOUT
Apart from other guests, you will find local people passing by to say “Bienvenidos” (Welcome) and “Hola” (Hello). The locals will bring by great lemon pies, fresh baked bread and fish. We offer a unique experience for your holidays by sharing time with local people and travelers from all over the world.
Our community has taught us to appreciate diversity of all types and to enjoy peace and harmony with nature. We love sharing such a special place with our guests no matter where they come from or what they do in the world. At Troncones Point, our diversity of guests has led us into spontaneous acoustic jam sessions, inter-cultural dinners, intelligent discussions, sharing an appreciation for nature, watching sunsets and moonsets over the Pacific Ocean from the Hostel’s spacious communal area under our artisan palapa roof.
It takes a little time to become accustomed to the experience of unity, but together we always make the best meals, have the greatest chats, make fun music, and learn from each other what life is all about from our personal and shared experiences.

THINGS TO DO
SURFING
The Troncones area boasts many world-class surf spots known to surfers worldwide. The best thing about the local surf spots is the variety. There is always good surf at nearby spots in every season and for every skill level.
The closest surf spot called Troncones Point is directly in front of the Hostel. The Point breaks best from late February to late October in the SW swell. Closer to the Troncones pueblo there are a series of shore breaks just about any time of year. Just north of the Hostel there’s La Boca, a river mouth break with sweet waves over a sandy bottom. The best waves at La Boca are from late October to late March. One is always in walking distance or a short drive to good waves. Likewise, there are some fantastic and easily accessible spots further north and south of the Hostel. You can rent a car or we can arrange a local surf panga to take you to the Ranch, La Saladita, Palo Alto, or south to Playa Linda, and Barra de Potosi.
FISHING
Have the experience of going into the ocean with a fishing boat and a local fisherman. The Pacific Coast of Mexico is best renown for it’s fishing. You can catch your own Yellowtail Tuna, Red Snapper, or Dorado. You can learn to prepare your “catch of the day” by the local fisherman with all the flavors of Mexico. That way you can show off your culinary skills to your friends and family back at home! While you’re waiting for the fish to bite, you can see a variety of sea turtles, different types of dolphins and migrating grey whales from December to March. There’s nothing like being offshore in a boat watching the contours of the gentle coastline.
MANZANILLO BAY
Our beautiful horseshoe shaped beach was voted one of the best in Mexico by Lonely Planet. The beach is a 5-minute walk down the public access across from the Hostel. It is the best swimming beach in Troncones without currents. Here you can enjoy surfing, boogie boarding, swimming, snorkeling and even paddle boarding.
Most of the times you will have the beach almost for yourself and when it gets busy you can always enjoy our 'natural swimming pools'. It’s a beautiful place to relax on the beach and see some of the most beautiful and colorful sunsets in Mexico.
