About 30 KM norh of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo on Mexico’s gorgeous Pacific Coast, there is a small gathering of surf spots called “ondas hermosas” or “beautiful waves”. The Troncones Point Hostel is located in the heart of this area removed from the tourist hustle and just steps from the ocean. Like the locale, our Hostel has a relaxed, laid back natural atmosphere, but also offers state-of-the art amenities and full-service comfort in an eco-friendly environment. We strive to have natural harmony between the local community and the natural environment. We are part of a community-wide effort to recycle plastic and glass by giving them to the local school program to help clean-up our local environment. We encourage our guests to be environmentally conscious and participate in our effort to keep the local beaches clean. We donate 10% of our profits to local families to help care for their elders and people in need of medical care. Our past efforts have built a school library, assisted community friends find specialized medical care out of the area and in some cases out of the country,
At the Hostel, we enjoy preparing community meals for our guests and offer them for a very reasonable price. We often have local chefs join us and teach our guests how to prepare freshly caught fish in the Mexican coastal style. You can prepare your own freshly caught fish in our community kitchen with a great view of the sunset over the Pacific Ocean!!
At the Hostel, we make an effort to be environmentally sustainable and resource wise. We use composting toilets to help conserve our local water supply and fertilize our non-edible garden plants. We recycle your shower water through our 2 three-chambered grey water systems and use it to water our bananas and garden. We use LED and energy-efficient light bulbs inside and outdoor solar lights to light the garden paths throughout the Hostel. They provide enough light to see where you step and to see the stars in the
