Fishing trip in Tronconesdog and surfer on the wat to the beachhorseback riding in troncones

Our beautiful horseshoe shaped beach was voted one of the best in Mexico by Lonely Planet. The beach is a 5-minute walk down the public access across from the Hostel. It is the best swimming beach in Troncones without currents. Here you can enjoy surfing, boogie boarding, swimming, snorkeling and even paddle boarding. One can often see surfing legend, Jerry Lopez, catching some smooth rollers on his paddle board. It’s a beautiful place to relax on the beach and see some of the most beautiful and colorful sunsets in Mexico. While you’re there you can have a quick bit at Hacienda Eden’s outdoor restaurant.

The Troncones area boasts many world-class surf spots known to surfers worldwide. The best thing about the local surf spots is the variety. There is always good surf at nearby spots in every season and for every skill level.

The closest surf spot called Troncones Point is directly in front of the Hostel. The Point breaks best from late February to late October in the SW swell. Closer to the Troncones pueblo there are a series of shore breaks just about any time of year. Just north of the Hostel past the pueblo of Mahajua there’s La Boca, a river mouth break with sweet waves over a sandy bottom.  The best waves at La Boca are from late October to late March. One is always in walking distance or a short drive to good waves.  Likewise, there are some fantastic and easily accessible spots further north and south of the Hostel. You can rent a car or we can arrange a local surf panga to take you to the Ranch, La Saladita, Palo Alto, Secrets, Rivaldis, or south to Playa Linda, and Barra de Pitosi.

HAVE THE EXPERIENCE OF GOING INTO THE OCEAN WITH A FISHING BOAT AND A LOCAL FISHERMAN.

The Pacific Coast of Mexico is best renown for it’s fishing. You can catch your own Yellowtail Tuna, Red Snapper, or Dorado. You can learn to prepare your “catch of the day” by the local fisherman with all the flavors of Mexico. That way you can show off your culinary skills to your friends and family back at home! While you’re waiting for the fish to bite, you can see a variety of sea turtles, different types of dolphins and migrating grey whales from December to March. There’s nothing like being offshore in a boat watching the contours of the gentle coastline.

ENJOY THE PLEASURE OF HORSEBACK RIDING ON THE BEACH OR IN THE MOUNTAINS

It doesn’t matter if you’re an expert or a beginner. There are horses for every level. The experienced local guides and their horses will be delivered to our front gate and can accommodate your vacation schedule.

There are many different trail options in and around Troncones. You can ride to visit the hot springs or caves or ride along the beach at sunset for a relaxing experience with a view.
